Shiraz Wine Jelly
A Delicious Preserve you will Embrace

One of the best edible wedding favors you can make

The Shiraz wine jelly is a delicious preserve that you can eat along scones or cold meats. You can use it to fill beautiful jars and give it as an original DIY wedding favor.

If you do not like Shiraz, you can use any other full bodied wine instead. My recommendations? Chardonnay or Port work extremely well.
You can make this edible wedding favor way in advance as it lasts up to a year, and you will be surprised to see that it will only take you about 20 minutes to get it all done.

Ingredients and Recipe

The following ingredients will make about 2 1/4 pounds of jelly.

You need:

* 3 cups of Shiraz wine,
* the juice of 2 large lemons,
* 2 lbs (900 g)of granulated sugar,
* and 9 oz (250g) of liquid pectin.

Mix the lemon juice, the wine and the pectin in a nonreactive pot and bring them to a boil.
Add the sugar and stir until it has dissolved completely over low heat.

Increase the heat and bring the mixture to a full boil and skim off any scum that comes to surface during cooking. Boil for another 2 minutes and turn off the heat for a set test.

When the jelly reaches it set point place it in sterilized jars, seal and label them.
