A Greek Wedding Theme ...
A stylish mediterranean celebration

A Greek wedding theme. The mediterranean, the ocean and love mixed up in this stylish theme.

If you love the breathtaking scenery of movies like "The sisterhood of travelling pants" or "Mamma Mia" this is the theme for you.

Setting the scene

First thing you need to do to recreate the wonderful views of Greece is to pick your colors.
Think of fishing villages, sun kissed bodies and a relaxed lifestyle.
Work mainly with whites and blues and accentuate them with silver.

use these colors on your linen and chairs. You should use white tablecloths and blue napkins. White chair covers and blue sashes, you get the idea.

Your centerpiece could be a very simple yet delicate candle arrangement, or go with the classy and timeless flower arrangement.

If you don't find a venue with pillars or columns, buy some greek columns decorations greek columns decorations to set the atmosphere. Also decorate the venue with gauze like fabric such as gossamer to give the illusion of ancient curtains.

While I am describing this theme as a destination theme, I know there are many brides out there who choose this theme to honor their roots and/or culture. There are many greek wedding traditions you can embrace if you are one this brides. And if you are not, you can still check some of them and incorporate them to make you theme a little more cultural oriented.

For example one easy tradition to incorporate is that one followed by many brides in Crete. They bake breads in a circular shape that they share with their guests at the wedding. This on is fun , and maybe you can give it your own spin, for example , don't bake bread, but maybe cupcakes, cookies, etc, whatever is your specialty to share with your guests.

Keep in mind the theme when choosing your dress. A beautiful greek wedding dress that reminiscence the ancient Greece is perfect for the occasion.

Your Wedding Cake

You have many options for your cake. Order a tiered cake that reflects your wedding colors or just a simple and delicate white tiered cake. For the most daring, go with a majestic one that displays the Holy trinity if you have and orthodox greek wedding.

A little something for your guests

To go with traditional Greek wedding favors, I have to encourage you to give your guests candy coated almonds. Choose a wedding favor bag or box that describes your style to give it a personal touch, but candy coated almonds are a must for this theme!

Or reflect the love for fruits that Greeks have with a Apple shaped Mini-Candle in gift box or scented pear soap
