Planning your wedding in the fall can be lots of fun. While the classic color palettes for the season include yellow, brown and/or orange, different couples let their personalities come through the themes they choose for the day of their union.
While in many places weather is still nice to hold outdoor receptions during autumn, some others take the party indoors. Decorating for a fall wedding reception can be challenging for some couples.
Let’s take a look at a real wedding from Virginia, to see how a couple not only embraced the fall wedding colors but also gave their reception their own spin with a Parisian inspired affair.
There are two areas in any reception hall that will draw the attention of your guests. The table settings and decorations, and your cake.
Here you can see a wonderful Eiffel tower centerpiece, surrounded by florals in an autumn color palette.
While this couple decided to use flowers to surround the Eiffel tower centerpiece, other items like votive candles, table jewelry or confetti, or even petals could had been used to give the table a special look.
Also note that there is a small gold picture frame with a picture of a famous Parisian site acting as the table name.
What I really like about the tower centerpiece is that is tall enough to make a statement but it won’t interfere with your guests vision while talking across the table.
A simple idea for favors that fit the theme perfectly are these favors boxes.
The plus of using a blank box like this is that you can get it customized and personalized.
In this case, they had been stamped to make them look like small pieces of luggage, which goes along with the theme perfectly!
This fun wedding cake has a colorful lion and lioness cake topper! This beautiful detail make the cake a focal point. Placed over a tiered stand, the other tiers feature tons of French style macaroons.
Another tip to take from this wedding, is to complement the theme with your menu.
Here you can see the macaroons in a close up. They are all decorated with a mini Eiffel tower and a fall leaf. Note also how they all have the wedding color palette.
Using the same colors throughout your venue in very different items will help you create a uniform look.
This elegant fall wedding reception also have some hints of a vintage wedding theme that you can incorporate in your own celebration.
Happy theme wedding planning!
